Do I have to be a member of The Bays to play in a league?
No, you don’t have to be a member of The Bays to join a league! We have a League Pass for $25/mo. that allows access to League Play in addition the league-specific registration, which varies by league. Members enjoy the benefit of no league fee and only contribute to the prize pool when relevant. Non-members have access to the facility only during their designated league hours unless you purchase hourly bookings that may better suit your schedule.
How can I join or start a league?
You can join one of our open leagues or participate in a private league by invitation from the League Captain. For our open leagues, simply fill out the forms linked above! If you're interested in becoming a League Captain and starting your own league, please reach out to us at manager@thebaysgolf.com.
What is the cost to participate in a league?
The cost to participate in a league varies based on membership status. Members only contribute to the prize pool, which may vary by league, with no additional league fee. Non-members pay a $125 league entry fee, plus their contribution to the prize pool. Onboardings will be free on the first day of the league. If you need to schedule a separate onboarding, a $50 fee will incur (for non-members only).
Do I have to play in the league during designated league times?
Members have the flexibility to play their league rounds on their own schedule, either during designated league hours or whenever is most convenient that week. Non-members, however, are required to play during their designated league hours. Most leagues are 2 weeks longer than the number of courses played, so you do not need to attend every week in order to complete the league. You also have the option to purchase bonus hours outside the league window if you are unable to attend a certain week.
Do I need to be there for the full league hours each week?
No! Only long enough to complete your course. Playing solo will move the course along faster, while playing with friends can take longer when you're not in a hurry. You do not need to arrive at the start of the league hours, just reserve your tee time within the window.
What is the format of league play?
League rules and formats can vary and ultimately are up to your League Captain to decide. Different formats include solo and group scores, net best score, match play, and other common competition formats. Some leagues will play 9-hole courses while others will be 18-holes. Typically leagues will have 4-6 courses in total.
Do I need to reserve a bay to play?
Yes, even during designated league hours you must book a tee time. Coordinate with your buddies if you would like to play in the same bay (up to a foursome).
